Job Title: Junior Community & Programme Coordinator - Gaming & Events

About Us:

The UKTC is the market leader in tabletop gaming events. This role supports exciting initiatives within the UK gaming scene, including a major new national gaming expo, grassroots community development for popular tabletop miniatures games, and the launch of a dedicated content platform for the world's largest Warhammer independent tournament circuit. 


Role Overview:

This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for a highly organised, proactive individual passionate about gaming, community building, and project coordination. You will play a crucial role in the day-to-day support, coordination, and execution across several key projects. You'll help manage social media channels, support community leaders and event organizers, track project progress, facilitate communication, and contribute to the overall success of our programmes and events.


Key Projects

  • As the Junior Programme Manager, your primary focus will be supporting the development and operation of our ambitious new digital content arm. This major initiative involves working with the technical lead to establish live broadcast capabilities, developing original content and helping to build an online community . 

  • You’ll also be working on a brand‑new, multi‑genre gaming expo debuting. The show will feature: vendors and collectors, tournaments, hands‑on demos, cosplay showcases and influencer meet‑ups. Your main role will be assisting with exhibitor recruitment and attendee marketing.

  • Additionally, you will be responsible for day-to-day co-ordination of our grassroots community engagement programme, ensuring local tournament organizers and store owners get the support they need to grow their local communities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Support & Management:

    • Act as a key point of contact for community members and leaders (store owners, organizers, influencers, attendees), providing support and guidance.

    • Assist in managing and moderating online community hubs.

    • Nurture relationships with community leaders, influencers, and specific gaming communities.

  • Content & Communication:

    • Create, and promote engaging content across various platforms (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).

    • Adapt copy, tone, and assets appropriately for different channels and audiences.

    • Assist in distributing programme resources and information.

    • Facilitate clear communication between internal teams, community leaders, freelancers, and external partners.

  • Programme & Project Coordination:

    • Support the roll out of grassroots community development programmes.

    • Maintain project plans, track task completion, monitor deadlines, and help keep initiatives on schedule.

    • Assist in preparing progress updates and organizing project documentation.

    • Proactively follow up on tasks and flag potential roadblocks.

  • Event & Campaign Support:

    • Coordinate marketing campaigns, including paid social boosts, direct marketing and influencer activities.

    • Assist with event-time social media coverage (live-tweeting, Stories, capturing highlights).

  • Analytics & Reporting:

    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to marketing and community growth.

    • Assist in presenting insights and identifying areas for optimization.

    • Support the collection of feedback from community leaders.


About You:

  • Experience: Recent graduate or ~1 year of hands-on experience (placement, internship, freelance, project coordination) ideally in social media marketing (paid campaigns), community management, project coordination, events, gaming, or entertainment.

  • Skills:

    • Exceptional organizational skills, highly methodical with strong attention to detail, and able to manage multiple tasks/platforms simultaneously.

    • Proactive, self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Comfortable with basic creative production.

    • Tech-savvy: Familiar with social media platforms and basic analytics/paid tools (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, Sprout/Hootsuite). Willingness to learn project management / creative tools.

  • Passion: A genuine passion for and knowledge of gaming culture (e.g., tabletop games, TCGs, miniatures like Warhammer, Star Wars: Legion/Shatterpoint, Marvel Crisis Protocol).

  • Attributes: Adaptable, positive can-do attitude, eager to learn, collaborative.

  • Logistics: Willing to travel to events and work weekends during major events.


Desirable Skills (Nice-to-Haves):

  • Familiarity with the UK tabletop gaming community landscape.

  • Experience using online community platforms, Discord, Facebook etc

  • Experience in event planning/support or basic understanding of video production/live streaming.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Premiere).
