With pairings now live for the first round of the Windsor Super-Major 2026 the hype is real, only a few days to go until nearly 250 competitors descend and start competing for the first victory in the UKTCs latest new event!
This article is going to look at a few players that I have picked to keep an eye on and expect to be seeing at the top tables this weekend. First lets take a quick reminder of the overall faction spread:

At a Glance
Space marines and Necrons are the most popular and widely considered strongest factions, but a very tight chase pack of Daemons, Dark Angels, and Tau empire neck and neck with the Necrons for popularity.
Faction specialism remains at an all time high as this late into the edition players are settled and comfortable on their playstyles and lists. Lets take a look at a few of the notable specalists this weekend.
Ben Jones (Warhorde Orks)
Ben's List
Beastboss (80 points)
Big Mek (95 points)
• Enhancement: Follow Me Ladz
Ghazghkull Thraka (235 points)
• 1x Makari
Warboss (75 points)
Beast Snagga Boyz (190 points)
Boyz (170 points)
Boyz (80 points)
Trukk (70 points)
Trukk (70 points)
Battlewagon (160 points)
Breaka Boyz (140 points)
Breaka Boyz (140 points)
Breaka Boyz (140 points)
Gretchin (40 points)
Gretchin (40 points)
Gretchin (40 points)
Kommandos (120 points)
Nobz (105 points)
Ben's list combines the durability and mobility of transports with the sticking power of a horde. Comprising of 2 large blocks of 20 + boyz and support pieces in Gretchin, Nobz, and Breaka boyz this list is very well rounded into the main threats in the meta, with fight on death and plenty of damage 3 to answer the Marines, and a bucket of dice approach will answer C'tan by handing them enough saves to overwhelm their defensive stat lines.
No stranger to the top cut - finishing 7th at the Manchester GT most recently, I fully expect Ben to do very well this weekend, and he is personally my pick to win. A result that could see him move to the prime position for the UKTC rankings and take down another UKTC event.
Byron Sidhu (Daemonic Incurson)
Byron's list
Be’lakor (375 points)
Kairos Fateweaver (285 points)
Lord of Change (295 points)
Rotigus (265 points)
Skarbrand (305 points)
Plaguebearers (110 points)
Plaguebearers (110 points)
Fiends (95 points)
Screamers (80 points)
Screamers (80 points)
Byron has a very real chance to win this weekend, the Fire and Dice daemons specialist that has been putting up numbers in recent events and is currently the highest-ranked player at the event. Well known for his positional play and wielding one of the best stat-check and reactive armies in the game, Byron is well accustomed to running good at UKTC events, finishing 4th and 6th in the recent Winter and Autumn ITTs respectively. But it is not just the teams format bringing him success... Byron also came 8th at the Coventry GT and 20th at Leicester - an incredible track record he will be looking to improve upon at this event.
The list comprises 5 greater daemons for damage and objective holding with a few scoring pieces that can utilise the mobility of the detachment's stratagems to play the edges and build that points lead. A few nasty tricks with access to 6" deepstrikes and charging can punish opponents who fail to screen correctly and end the game in a single blow.
Denis Naberezhnykh (Starshatter Necrons)
Denis' List
C'tan Shard of the Deceiver (285 pts)
1x C'tan Shard of the Nightbringer (315 pts)
Geomancer (75 pts)
Hexmark Destroyer (100 pts)
Nekrosor Ammentar (165 pts)
The Silent King (400 pts)
5 x Deathmarks (60 pts)
Doomsday Ark (200 pts)
Doomsday Ark (200 pts)
5x Flayed Ones (60 pts)
5x Flayed Ones (60 pts)
3x Ophydian Destroyers (80 pts)
Another of the Fire and Dice roster is turning up this weekend, and one of the best Necron players I have seen. Denis is in that happy place of running one of the strongest armies and being very comfortable on it and how it plays into a wide range of match ups, a very simple gameplan from the face of it. "You can't win the game if I table you first". He is going to look to leverage the speed and utility of the Starshatter arsenal to apply maximum pressure to his opponent, able to move monsters through walls and easily answer anything on objectives as required.
The C'tan are a significant challenge for many armies, and despite this power not one of them made the top 4 at Manchester. This is the downside of playing the bogeymen of a meta - most players have a plan and write lists to deal with specifically your units. This is where the specialism comes into it's own. Knowing the match ups and how your list loses is just as important as knowing how it wins. This understanding will be key for Denis to navigate the counter match ups and hopefully make a deep run in this field.
Will B (Mont'ka Tau)
Will's List
Ethereal (75 pts)
Kroot War Shaper (65 pts)
10x Breacher Team (90 pts)
10x Breacher Team (90 pts)
1x Devilfish (85 pts)
1x Devilfish (85 pts)
1x Hammerhead Gunship (145 pts)
1x Hammerhead Gunship (145 pts)
10x Kroot Carnivores (65 pts)
10x Pathfinder Team (90 pts)
10x Pathfinder Team (90 pts)
10x Pathfinder Team (90 pts)
1x Piranhas (60 pts)
1x Riptide Battlesuit (200 pts)
1x Riptide Battlesuit (200 pts)
1x Riptide Battlesuit (200 pts)
5x Stealth Battlesuits (110 pts)
5x Stealth Battlesuits (110 pts)
Will is a very well known competitor and Tau empire specialist. Having been one of the top competitiors in the faction for years he is back again after a brief stint with Ultramarines. This time taking a very different approach with a board control and objective centric list. This list will bully opponents in the early game with the mobility and assult from his detatchment rule. and deny them agency through a combination of move blocking and OC.
Will has had a very strong run this season, with his UKTC tokened results being: 6th Place at the Leicester GT, 2nd Place at the Autumn ITT, 11th at Coventry and 26th at the Winter ITT. Placing him firmly in the top 100 rankings with 2 more results to submit, meaning that no matter what happens he will add to his result and likely climb steadily up the rankings ahead of people that cannot improve their scores this weekend. A pleasure to see him back on his signature faction and fully expect him to do very well this event.
