There is a lot to know ahead of a UKTC event, and they run best when everyone is on the same page. We have numerous policies, rulings, and information for each event that are well worth reading ahead of the event. These are important to understand so that you are aware of what is expected and that you can make the most of your experience with us. It is every players responsibility to make sure that they are aware and follow these policies at the events.
This article is to explain what the different documents are for and, most importantly, where you can find them.
This covers how we officiate events, the standards we set and expect from our players. It covers a range from how and when to submit your list, how to handle rules disputes, and what is expected from you as a player. It is well worth reading through this document in its entirety - and referencing back to it often as we do maintain it and update it regularly.
This is your guide for each day of the tournament - it will lay out your format, timings, pairings, scoring, and awards. The majority of our events use our standard 2-day format, but for Teams and 3 day variant events it is important that you check the appropriate pack to make sure that you don't miss any important information
The Location Pack
As our events are across the country and we have players travelling from all over the world to attend we understand that the majority of people will not be locals to a given event. This document is here to support you and your travel, it includes specifics for the venue, how to get there, where to stay, and information on the food and drinks provided on-site.
This is specific to each event and can be found on the event page on our website
Warhammer is a very complicated game, and we regularly have questions from players that do not have immediately clear answers, to help save time on the day and to answer common questions we have a dedicated document listing these questions and our answers to them. This also gets updated regularly and it is important that you at a minimum have a good understanding of your factions restrictions and interactions in these cases.
The final, and funnest document on our list is the terrain and mission pack, this will give you all the information you need to help set up on the day but to practice before the event. The map pack tells you the deployment, the mission, the terrain layout, and the order in which you will be playing your games. This is regularly updated and also has a separate version for teams events where there are multiple terrain layouts. We provide each player a booklet at the start of the event with all the maps printed out for easy reference, that also doubles as a score sheet to help you track your game if you need!
Reading order
Whilst you can read these in any order I do recommend that you follow the order in this article as it gives you the best grounding in understanding our policies and how they will translate into you having the best weekend possible at one of our events.
Once you are confident and happy with your understanding the last step that remains is to get yourself a ticket, that can be done here.
We look forward to welcoming you to one of our massive events and we will see you at the supers!
