UKTC.TV is the media and broadcast arm of the UK Tournament Circuit, created to make competitive Warhammer 40,000 more visible, more accessible, and easier to follow.
We are now looking to build a small pool of reliable freelance livestream / OBS operators who can support UKTC events across the UK.
This is a practical event-delivery role. In the short term, we are looking for someone who can attend selected UKTC events, set up our streaming equipment, manage OBS during the weekend, monitor the live broadcast, troubleshoot issues, and help us deliver a professional and reliable stream from the venue.
About UKTC.TV
UKTC runs the largest and Warhammer 40,000 events in the world. UKTC.TV exists to help tell the story of those events: the top games, the key players, the rankings, the teams, the rivalries, and the wider competitive pathway.
Our aim is not simply to “put games on YouTube.” We want to build a broadcast product that makes competitive Warhammer easier to watch, easier to understand, and more valuable for players, fans, sponsors, and the wider community.
To do that properly, we need strong technical delivery on event weekends.
The role
We are looking for a freelance livestream / OBS operator to support UKTC.TV at live events.
The role will involve arriving at the venue, setting up UKTC’s existing streaming equipment, preparing the stream, operating OBS throughout the event, monitoring quality, and packing down at the end of the weekend.
You will be working alongside the UKTC events team. This is a freelance role, paid on an agreed day rate or event rate.
Key responsibilities
The successful freelancer will be expected to:
attend selected UKTC events in person;
set up UKTC’s livestreaming equipment at the venue;
configure and manage OBS for the event stream;
connect and test cameras, capture devices, microphones, audio interfaces, overlays, and stream scenes;
monitor stream health throughout the day;
troubleshoot technical issues quickly and calmly;
manage transitions, overlays, scenes, and basic stream graphics during the broadcast;
record footage locally where required;
coordinate with event staff;
maintain a clean, safe, and professional production setup;
help pack down and check equipment at the end of the event;
provide brief post-event notes on technical issues, improvements, or missing equipment.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is technically capable, reliable, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in a live event environment.
You should have practical experience with:
OBS Studio;
live-streaming workflows;
cameras and video capture;
microphones and basic audio management;
YouTube;
live event troubleshooting;
cable management and physical AV setup;
working to event schedules.
Essential requirements
You must be able to:
work weekends;
travel to UKTC events across the UK;
arrive on time and work reliably across a full event day;
manage a technical setup without constant supervision;
communicate clearly with event staff;
stay calm when problems occur;
take responsibility for delivering a stable broadcast;
work professionally around players, staff, venue teams, sponsors, and members of the public.
Pay
This is a paid freelance role.
Please include your expected day rate or event rate when applying. We are happy to discuss the appropriate rate depending on experience, event length, travel requirements, and the level of responsibility involved.
How to apply
To apply, please send a short email to:
Please include:
a short introduction;

examples of previous streams or events you have worked on, if available;

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who are practical, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of the technical side of a live event broadcast.
UKTC.TV is still developing, so this is a good opportunity for the right freelancer to become part of the project at an early stage and help shape how we deliver live competitive Warhammer coverage going forward.
