Lists are in! For our first ever Scottish GT - The Edinburgh Super-Major is nearly here and we have our first look at the faction breakdown and force disposition choices! (of those entered to bcp) As over 200 players compete in the largest event in Scotland so far!

Faction Choices
Balance has returned to the force this month, with Marines taking top spot for most popular, as the edition settles in a little bit more, the depth of the Marine codex and their multiple ways to play has seen them emerge as a very strong choice early in the edition.
We are seeing a definite bias towards melee factions in the rest of the podium, with Orks, Custodes, and Blood Angels all able to deliver reliable melee pressure with fast moving hard hitting units. Perhaps the claims of "Fast Gun Good" are overexaggerated - maybe Fast Punch Gooder. But we will have to see, how well these factions can leverage the New terrain and layouts.
Abracadabra
There is a lot of magic flying around this weekend, Marines will largely be incorporating Librarius conclave where they can, and the previous popular Thousand Sons are still out in Force, looking to repeat their victory from Birmingham at this event. In an edition where things are in flux, the changer of ways certainly can gain a foothold.
Fall From Grace
The Adepta Sororitas have taken quite the plummet from Birmingham to just a single representative this weekend, joined by Black Templars and the Genestealer Cults - perhaps these faction specialists will rise to the top and take the weekend by storm!
Conversely, the Chaos Knights see a malefic surge in popularity 5x ing their representation for this event!
Faction Disposition

The most impactful change for the new edition is the introduction of Force Dispositions. These are the changes to primary mission play that is completely dynamic based on your opponent and your choice in list building and completely changes the games you play.
Like last time, we see a definite trend towards some dispositions and away from others - with Recon dropping in popularity and Purge overtaking Take and Hold.
Purge the foe is the most popular, and as the name suggests is focused on taking the fight to the oppnent, with missions that reward aggressive play and heavy skirmishing - it is no surprise to see this at the top when we look at the melee faction prevelance in the field.
Take and Hold slides back a bit from Birmingham, but still offers a very "traditional" playstyle that most players will be comfortable with whilst presenting a solid scoring floor across all of its match ups. Perhaps slightly less favoured into Purge but better in the rest is not a bad place to be.
The previous event winning Priority Assets once again sits at 3rd most popular, with a solid match up across the board and for the lists that build into it rewards the extra scoring pieces and prepared positioning, this disposition has a good mix of action scoring and objective scoring.
Recon places 4th, with a sharp decline from previous events, although having a good matcup into purge can struggle into Take and Hold putting it in a strange place for this weekend, personally my favourite disposition I will be keen to see how these players perform. As its hardest match up, disruption, is not that popular.
Disruption once again only has a handful of brave souls - as it has a very different play style to what we are used to and so will take a bit of time before players are practiced enough to be confident in taking it.
