The LGT: What This Event Can Do to the Rankings
The London Grand Tournament is almost here, and with the final event of the 2025/26 season about to begin, the stakes could hardly be higher for the UKTC rankings.
Unlike the rest of the season, there is no next event to make up ground or defend a position. The LGT will be the final opportunity for players to add to their scores before the season winners are decided.
And with the current Top 3 all heading to London, the race at the very top could come down to the final rounds.
Let's take a look at some of the biggest ranking battles heading into the LGT
The Race for No. 1
At the top of the leaderboard, Mani Cheema enters the LGT as the No. 1 ranked player, sitting on 956.84 points.
But his lead is far from unassailable.
Ben Jones is currently second on 937.68 points, just 19.16 points behind Mani. Ross Tully is also within striking distance, sitting third on 923.12, only 14.56 points behind Ben and 33.72 points behind Mani.
With all three players competing at the LGT, the final event of the season could have a direct impact on who finishes at the top of the UKTC rankings.
Mani will be looking to protect his position and finish the season as No. 1, while Ben has the opportunity to close the gap and potentially overtake him. Ross, meanwhile, will be hoping that a strong performance of his own, combined with either of his rivals dropping points, gives him a route into the top two.
The margins are small enough that every result could matter.

The Battle Behind the Top Three
The fight for the championship is not the only interesting part of the leaderboard.
Greg Chamberlain currently sits fourth on 916.77 points, just 6.35 points behind Ross. Andy Quas-Cohen is fifth on 912.65, while Scott Morris sits sixth on 910.51.
That puts four players -Ross, Greg, Andy and Scott- within just 12.61 points of each other.
While the gap to No. 1 is larger, the positions immediately behind the podium are extremely close. A strong LGT could therefore have a significant impact on the final Top 10, with several players separated by only a handful of points.
The Fight for the Top 10
Further down the table, the margins remain incredibly tight.
Theo Hayat currently sits seventh on 910.18 points, followed by Christopher Langton on 909.71, just 0.47 points apart.
Byron Sidhu sits ninth on 897.70, while Nassim Fouchane rounds out the Top 10 on 896.47.
All four players will be competing at the LGT, meaning this section of the leaderboard could see plenty of movement before the season comes to a close. With just 13.71 points separating seventh from tenth, a strong performance from any of them could significantly change the final order.
Every Point Matters
The further down the leaderboard we go, the more tightly packed the rankings become.
Reece Knight sits 11th on 882.60 points, while Chris Irvine is 12th on 880.35. Danny Evison follows in 13th on 878.74, with David Gaylard just behind on 878.42.
Stephen Box is 15th on 877.61, meaning the gap from 11th to 15th is only 4.99 points. Further down, Kyle Grundy sits 16th on 871.09, with Aidan Sutherley-Gilmour just 0.52 points behind in 17th.
And with all of these players attending the LGT, the battle around the Top 10 could be particularly interesting. Every player will be looking to stay as close to that group as possible, with a strong final event potentially allowing them to break into the Top 10 before the season ends.
The same pattern continues through the rest of the Top 20. From 11th to 20th, just 18.75 points separate the entire group, meaning there is plenty of room for movement when the final results are in.
With the LGT being the last event of the season, every player in this group has one final opportunity to climb the table and finish as close to the Top 10 as possible.
The Final Event
The UKTC rankings have been building towards this moment throughout the 2025/26 season, and the London Grand Tournament will bring the season to its conclusion.
At the top, Mani, Ben and Ross are separated by just 33.72 points, with all three competing at the LGT.
Behind them, Greg, Andy and Scott are tightly packed together, while the fight for the Top 10 and the positions further down the table remains equally close.
The LGT will be the final event contributing to the 2025/26 season rankings, giving players one last opportunity to add to their scores and make a move up the leaderboard. Once the final results are in, the season's final standings will be confirmed.
For Mani, Ben and Ross, that means the battle for No. 1 could go all the way to the final rounds. For everyone else, it is a final opportunity to finish the season on a high and secure the best possible position in the standings.
