UKTC 11th Edition Events

Now that the official launch date for the new edition has been confirmed as the 20th of June, we would like to let you know how the confirmed launch date impacts our upcoming events.

This is not the first time the UKTC has managed an edition change and we have a very robust methodology for managing the release. This will ensure a seamless transition for you as players and the chance to play in the first Super-Majors of the new edition.

Which events will be 11th edition?

Starting with the big question, we will follow our usual rules cut off for updated rules, and this means that the Birmingham GT will be using the new ruleset!

For those who worry that they will not be up to speed on 11th Edition in time for Birmingham on 4th-5th July, there will also be a 10th edition side event for those who want to come and have fun anyway.

Every event afterwards will be using the 11th edition rules exclusively, these are:

The Leeds GT

The Leeds GT is going to be the last event we run before the edition changes, this means that it is the perfect way to celebrate the end of the edition and the last chance players will get to secure placings for the UKTC’s King of 10th awards! We’ll be doing a full awards show for the King of 10th on UKTC.TV the week following Leeds.

So, whether you want to fight for those last ranking points, run that list you’ve always thought about but never did, or just to have a great weekend of games, we would love to welcome you to the end of edition blast that Leeds is promising to be. There are just a few spots left and tickets are available here.

The Birmingham GT

The Birmingham GT is going to be the first Super-Major in the world using the new edition,. This will be a fantastic opportunity for players to hit the ground running and get that first event under the belt. Due to how close after launch it is we are aware that not every one may want to play a full tournament on new rules. So we plan to run not 1 but 3 different events this weekend.

First, we will be running a 11th Edition Super-Major - using the new matched play rules and missions.

Second, we will be running a 10th edition GT as a side event, this is perfect for people who don’t want to feel pressured to learn a whole new ruleset in a few weeks.

Third, we will have the opportunity for supported open play, where you can play pick up games of the new edition.

Regardless of which option you chose for this, we will have plenty of staff on hand to answer questions and help the events run smoothly.

Tickets and more information can be found on our website: here

What about rules and FAQs?

With a range of new rules and core mechanic changes there are going to be a lot of new questions about how interactions work. We will continue with our current approach to regular judge reviews of FAQs and will be updating our rulings document to align with the new edition. Our judges will be on hand during events in order to support these games so you should never hesitate to ask for clarity especially during your first games. They are are here to support you.

As more information about the edition is released we will be providing more updates, so be sure to follow our social media & join the discord to be kept up to date with those announcements.
