We are so excited for the South Coast Super-Major this weekend, with a completely shaken up metagame and our Southern community rallying for another epic weekend.
Will the updated defilers run the show? Or will Marines continue to excel across the board?
These are questions we are looking forward to answering this weekend.
Before we look at a few of the players that I think could have a deep run this weekend, let's take a quick look at the distribution across the field.

The top 3 are mostly unsurprising, with the Marine and Tau gunlines being the most popular picks, but a dark red horse in third place with the World Eaters. Able to stage aggressively and shut the gap down definitely feels like a reasonable answer to these pressure firing lines that we see be a popular playstyle across the board.
Let's take a look at 3 names and lists that I think are shaping up to have quite the weekend with some very strong and unique picks that could be great answers to the current meta.
Ben Jones - GEnestealer cults
Ben's List

Strike Force (2000 points)
Biosanctic Broodsurge
Abominant (105 points)

Hybrid Metamorphs (140 points)
Purestrain Genestealers (140 points)
Purestrain Genestealers (75 points)
Purestrain Genestealers (75 points)
A heavy melee pressure list that can rely on the detachment rule to make reliable charges with bonuses once a unit has made the charge, this is a great pick from Ben to play into most armies but especially the gunline meta that is emerging, the pressure from his infiltrators and resurgance mechanics will mean that should they ever get the front foot, the cults will dominate the tempo and engagements to their benefit. They are able to consistently score most secondaries and manipulate the primary in a way that very few other armies can making them menaces in the right match up.
The list can be a victim of its own variance however, as whilst it can get bonuses to charges, any melee player will tell you... a 5" inch charge with a reroll is very failable, the pilot has to make sure they position and play in a way to mitigate this variance.
Liam Callebout - Dark Angels
Liam's List
Wrath of the Rock (Dutiful Tenacity)
Ancient in Terminator Armor (90 pts)
Azrael (125 pts)
Lieutenant with Combi-weapon (95 pts)
Lion El'Jonson (315 pts)
Deathwing Knights (250 pts)
Deathwing Knights (250 pts)
Desolation Squad (200 pts)
Infiltrator Squad (100 pts)
Inner Circle Companions (180 pts)
Scout Squad (70 pts)
Gladiator Lancer (160 pts)
Gladiator Lancer (160 pts)
A very elite list here from Liam, the Dark Angels are well known for their durability and this list will be no exception. With -1 To wound from stronger attacks there are 3 durable bricks in the DWK and Inner Circle and the Lion an ever present beat stick to threaten some crippling fights first and heroic intervention combination presents quite the conundrum to melee armies looking to unpick this.
However, it is not just a melee game that this list will go toe to toe with in the midboard, there is some very good shooting to back this up, two gladiator lancers will pack plenty of range anti tank but interestingly a unit of desolation marines is an interesting choice as they will be able to leverage the bonus strength from the stratagems with their datasheet ability to ignore gover in certain situations to apply pressure and safely deal with screens and staged units.
Cayleb Langhals - Thousand Sons
Cayleb's List
Thousand Sons
Hexwarp Thrallband
Strike Force (2,000 Points)
Daemon Prince of Tzeentch with Wings (190 Points)
• Enhancements: Arcane Might
Daemon Prince of Tzeentch with Wings (185 Points)
• Enhancements: Noctilith Mantle
Daemon Prince of Tzeentch with Wings (195 Points)
• Enhancements: Empyric Onslaught
Sorcerer (80 Points)
Sorcerer (80 Points)
Sorcerer in Terminator Armour (85 Points)
Rubric Marines (100 Points)
Rubric Marines (100 Points)
Rubric Marines (100 Points)
Chaos Rhino (90 Points)
Scarab Occult Terminators (360 Points)
Sekhetar Robots (160 Points)
Tzaangor Enlightened (45 Points)
Tzaangor Enlightened (45 Points)
Tzaangor Enlightened (45 Points)
Tzaangors (70 Points)
Tzaangors (70 Points)
Representing here a detachment that caused a lot of problems with the codex release, the Hexwarp thrallband returns here to cause headaches for his opponents. Cayleb is leaning into a triple Daemon-Prince build that can leverage the enhancements to boost their damage through the roof, thanks to their ability to supercharge their shooting in a turn they arrive. There is a strong core of Rubricae with 15 Rubric Marines AND 10 Scarab Terminators add even more short-range damage and resiliency on the midboard, backed up with plenty of scoring pieces in Tzaangors and their disc riding enlightened counterparts.
Definitely looking to play on a knowledge game here with one of the most complicated armies to set up, and punish misplays from his opponent will see the opportunities for some big scores if executed correctly, but if he is the one making the mistakes, the house of cards will fall down around him.
But wait, theres more!
That is all we have time for today to look at, but there are many more names I could talk about. With so many big names this weekend we are sure to see some good pairings and fireworks! The best news is that we will be covering every single one of the rounds on our dedicated youtube stream: UKTC.tv - which you can find here. Make sure to subscribe so you see when the stream starts, at 9am on Saturday. So that even when you aren't there, we can see you at the supers!
