Coventry: what is at stake
Coventry is almost here. The three-day 40K event starts on Friday, with the two-day tournament joining it on Saturday. Alongside the race for the weekend’s trophies, there is a new UKTC season to get stuck into and a particularly interesting contest at the top of King of 11th.
Two of the players at the centre of that contest are heading to Coventry with T’au. World Eaters and Orks also give us plenty to look forward to across the field. Here are the stories we’ll be following.
An early chance to shape the season
The three-day event counts towards both UKTC 2026/27 and King of 11th. With the UKTC season starting after the London GT, Coventry offers an early opportunity to put a strong result on the board.
That gives the weekend two different races to follow: players building their new-season campaigns, and an edition-long leaderboard with an established group at the front. A good Coventry run could matter well beyond Sunday’s final round.
You can follow the UKTC standings and season information and the King of 11th leaderboard as the results come in.
Ross Tully and Kyle Grundy: the leaders are coming to Coventry
Ross Tully leads King of 11th on 618.14 points, with Kyle Grundy his closest challenger on 584.89. Both are playing in the three-day event, so there is plenty of reason to keep an eye on their progress through the rounds.
Ross is representing Secondary Objective and Kyle is flying the flag for Carnage. Both have chosen T’au, but Ross’s army gives Kroot fans a very particular reason to tune in: his list includes 80 Kroot Carnivores and 18 Krootox Rampagers, backed by nine Krootox Riders. That is a lot of Kroot to get across a table.
We’ll be watching how far Ross can take that force through the field, and whether Kyle can turn a strong weekend into more pressure on the leader. Their results give us a useful thread to follow even when they are playing on different tables.
Have a look at Ross’s army and Kyle’s army, then pick the games you want to follow.
World Eaters and Orks join the chase
Aidan Sutherley-Gilmour is bringing World Eaters for Friendly Fire, while Ben Jones will be playing Orks for Vanguard Tactics. If you enjoy following those armies, these are two names to keep an eye on in the three-day event.
There is a club story here too: Friendly Fire, Vanguard Tactics, Secondary Objective and Carnage all have players for their teammates to cheer on. Pick your favourite army, follow your clubmates through the pairings, and see who is still in the trophy hunt on Sunday.
Meet more of the players and armies in our Coventry Ones to Watch preview.
