Manchester was once again a celebration of the Warhammer hobby as the UKTC hosted the Manchester Summer Super-Major. Alongside the games and armies on the tables, the weekend showcased the incredible creativity, skill and dedication of the hobby community through our Painting Competition.
Best Painted Army - Tyler sharp
Tyler’s Space Wolves took first place for Best Painted Army. Built around a predominantly cool colour palette, the army is brought to life by the various ghosts used to complement the units, while shades of grey across the armour and vehicles add consistency throughout. The result is a striking scheme that perfectly captures the savage, runic character of the Space Wolves
BEST PAINTED UNIT - HAAD HUSSAIN
Haad’s Terminators stood out thanks to a truly distinctive colour scheme. With only the helmets and aquilas painted in a striking deep red, the rest of the armour is brought to life with paler, almost electric tones. This unusual contrast gives the unit a much more intimidating presence on the battlefield.

Paul’s Wazdakka stood out thanks to the vibrancy of its colours. He opted for a more classic palette, drawing inspiration from the way the model has been represented in various pieces of Warhammer artwork, but that doesn’t make the miniature any less imposing. The contrast between the colours, combined with the incredible level of detail, makes it almost impossible to walk past without stopping to admire Paul’s painting skill.
