The pairings are out for this weekend's Leeds GT - with over 200 players battling it out for our last event of 10th edition, the final chance for players to claim points for the edition long king of 10th rankings series.
This article is going to take a look at a few of the players that I think will do well this weekend, and a quick look at their lists.
The Faction breakdown

Lets take a brief look at the meta for this event, the space is still vastly dominated by Gunlines from the Tau, Marines, and Defilers. With a small cohort of fast combat armies looking to close the gap and leverage their board control across the fire lanes. You can read a more indepth breakdown here.
Greg Chamberlain - Art Of War
Greg is once again back at the UKTC super majors, looking to add another impressive run to his season so far. Having made every top cut he has played for since Leicester last year it definitely feels like he is closing in on that breakthrough to a podium finish with even a good chance of taking down the entire event itself.
Greg's List
Tyranids
Invasion Fleet
Hyperadapted Raveners (165 points)
Hyperadapted Raveners (165 points)
Hyperadapted Raveners (165 points)
Tyranid Prime with Lash Whip (65 points)

20 x Hormagaunts (130 points)

Biovore (50 points)
10 x Genestealers (140 points)

Neurolictor (70 points)

Raveners (125 points)

Raveners (125 points)
The Tyranids come in three by three it seems. Greg has a very interesting Tyranid list here that screams a faction specialist that has identified the key units from the codex and maxxed out on them. Looking to leverage the damage assistance from the invasion fleet detatchment giving a healthy level of flexibility into many match ups.
Three units of 20 hormagaunts look to leverage their mobility, OC, and model regeneration to control the flow of the battle, managing the ability to screen and move block for relatively cheap. This will look to play well against slow and immobile armies such as deathguard, and is well able to close in on gunlines with plenty of access to advance and charge to shut down their firepower.
Scott Morris - Carnage
Scott is looking to improve on his run from last year, able to place 3rd after an impressive top cut run with his Tyranids he is back now on the Aeldari. Representing Carnage, the most represented team at the events as they once again turn up in numbers for one of their local events.
Scott's List
Aeldari
Aspect Host
Asurmen (135 Points)
Jain Zar (120 Points)
Lhykhis (135 Points)
Wave Serpent (125 Points)
10 x Dire Avengers (150 Points)
10 x Fire Dragons (240 Points)
10 x Fire Dragons (240 Points)
10 x Howling Banshees (190 Points)
5 x Rangers (55 Points)
6 x Shining Spears (220 Points)
5 x Striking Scorpions (85 Points)
5 x Striking Scorpions (85 Points)
5 x Warp Spiders (105 Points)
5 x Warp Spiders (105 Points)
Scott is running a well rounded Aspect host list that blends the lightning fast speed and with crippling damage that the aspect shrines are able to deliver. The inclusion of shining spears are fantastic for this, with their ability to ignore vertical movement allowing them to functionally ignore terrain and with anti monster/vehicle lances able to take down big targets with frightening efficiency.
Will Scott be able to improve upon last year? He will certainly hope so as he follows the farseers guidance for this weekend.
George Leathley - Sanguine Spanners
Once again we have another faction specialist bringing the final form of their list, George represents Sanguine Spanners a team with more than a few names to watch in recent events. George has been piloting the Stormlance Space Wolves for almost as long as the codex has been out.
George's List
Space Wolves
Stormlance Task Force
Arjac Rockfist (105 Points)
Bjorn the Fell-Handed (160 Points)
Lieutenant with Combi-weapon (85 Points)
Logan Grimnar (110 Points)
Wolf Priest (70 Points)
5 x Intercessor Squad (80 Points)
5 x Fenrisian Wolves (40 Points)
5 x Scout Squad (70 Points)
6 x Thunderwolf Cavalry (230 Points)
6 x Wolf Guard Headtakers (170 Points)
5 x Wolf Guard Terminators (170 Points)
10 x Wolf Guard Terminators (170 Points)
10 x Wulfen with Storm Shields (200 Points)
5 x Wulfen with Storm Shields (200 Points)
There is a certain elegancy to the lack of subtely in this list design here, it is built to go fast and punch hard. And go fast and punch hard it does, the stormlance allowing both advance and fall back then charge, pairing with an 9" auto-advance for the thunderwolves allow them to easily negotiate the terrain and potential moveblocks as required and pounce on any mispositioning from his opponents.
In any case this will be a fantastic send off for the edition as George looks to finish with a deep run this weekend!
